Overnight Mental Health Specialist

About This Role

This overnight position is vital to the implementation of excellent client care, acting as a liaison between the treatment team and adolescents. The role involves mentoring and supporting teens aged 12 to 17 in a residential setting, modeling appropriate boundaries and professionalism. It suits someone passionate about recovery who can relate to an adolescent population.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the intake and orientation process
• Conduct searches of property brought to the facility and lock up contraband and medications
• Assist clients in all aspects of day and evening activities, including driving to appointments and meetings
• Observe, monitor, and document client activity using KIPU
• Complete regular resident checks as needed or indicated
• Provide daily summaries of the activity on your shift
• May facilitate meditation and big book studies
• Conduct regular checks of the facility and clients
• Monitor and record client vitals
• Conduct UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures
• Attend mandatory staff meetings
• Interact professionally and compassionately with clients and their family members
• Understand and maintain company policies regarding professional ethics
• Have a general understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues with clients

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance
• Ability to pass a Live Scan and background check
• Working knowledge of 12-steps
• Proficient in Word
• First AID and CPR Certification within 30 days of employment
• Negative TB-test verified within the last 6 months
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience working with adolescents
• No felony or misdemeanor on your record

Nice to have:

• KIPU proficiency
• 1 year sober
• 2 years of experience in residential care
