Overview
Visiting Angels in Lexington is seeking a joyful, dedicated and compassionate Overnight Caregiver to join our team. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance including helping clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor clients' health status by observing mental alertness, and noting any changes or concerns related to conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Follow care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure client safety.
- Support clients with fluid intake and light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Use proper patient transfer methods including gait belts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment during overnight hours.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with home health standards.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on geriatrics or disability support. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, or autism is highly valued. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, and patient transfer methods is essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in adhering to resident's rights, HIPAA regulations, and care plans while providing compassionate caregiving. Additional experience in hospice care, memory care, or long-term care environments will be considered an asset. Strong communication skills for client interaction and the ability to perform heavy lifting or manual handling tasks safely are required for success in this role.
