About the role
Role Overview: The RN Outpatient Cardiovascular Nurse supports cardiac diagnostics and rehab, providing high-quality, safe patient care in a clinical environment. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, interpret diagnostic data, and develop individualized care plans to meet patients' biological, emotional, and educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac stress testing, monitor patient responses, and interpret data for physicians.
- Deliver age-appropriate, patient-centered care in cardiac rehab, including exercise prescriptions and health education.
- Conduct assessments, obtain informed consent, administer medications, and respond to emergencies per protocols.
- Maintain documentation, ensure safety, and support continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and promote service excellence.
- Support team development, participate in emergency training, and uphold professional standards.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular care through ongoing education.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including clinical and management background; 2+ years in cardiac nursing preferred.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelors preferred.
- Licenses and certifications: ACLS, BLS, and relevant state licensure, all required upon hire.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer skills.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
