Role Overview Provides direct patient care within orthopedic and medical-surgical units, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care according to standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and participates in safety, quality, and professional development activities. Develops and documents individualized care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team and respecting patient preferences and cultural needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- RN license with a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred)
- Experience in orthopedics and/or Med-Surg is preferred but not required
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a healthcare environment
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience and BSN degree
Key Duties
- Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Participate in professional growth and interprofessional collaboration
- Work on a 32-bed orthopedic/neurologic unit caring for post-operative orthopedic patients
