POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Orthopedic Technician contributes to the clinical and operational services of the Trauma Follow-Up Clinic by providing orthopedic support care and assisting with outpatient trauma and orthopedic procedures. Responsibilities include the application and removal of casts, splints, braces, and other trauma and orthopedic devices, as well as specialized wound and skin care services. The Orthopedic Technician supports physicians and clinical staff through patient care coordination, patient education, phone triage, scheduling support, and clinical documentation. This role demonstrates excellent customer service and consistently supports the mission, values, policies, and protocols of University Health.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited trade school with a diploma as an Orthopedic Technician or six months experience as an Orthopedic Technician in a similar setting is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
