Order Picker

About This Role

An order picker helps ensure customer orders are picked accurately, packaged securely, and prepared for shipment. This role also supports receiving, inventory, and general warehouse operations to keep things running smoothly. It suits candidates who are dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to learn, whether they have prior warehouse experience or are looking to build new skills.

Responsibilities

• Pick products from warehouse stock according to packing slips, ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected
• Record picked items on packing slips and prepare orders for shipment
• Package products securely to help prevent damage during transportation
• Assist the Shipping Department with freight documentation and ensure customers sign packing slips and receive a copy when required
• Help receive and put away weekly stock transfers, verifying shipments against packing slips and visually inspecting products
• Assist customers at the pickup counter
• Support the Inside Sales team with inventory checks as needed
• Participate in training related to hose assembly, delivery orders, and receiving goods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, including keeping aisles clear
• Assist with general warehouse upkeep, including sweeping, garbage removal, and snow shovelling
• Follow established safety procedures and complete other warehouse duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately check products and quantities
• Clear communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• The ability to perform the physical duties associated with warehouse work
• A willingness to learn, contribute to the team, and follow safe work practices

Nice to have:

• Previous warehouse, order picking, shipping, or receiving experience
• Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems
• Product knowledge
