Order Picker

About This Role

Joining a dynamic warehouse team, the Order Picker drives efficient order fulfillment and inventory management. This vital role involves operating various heavy equipment and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Responsibilities

• Utilize RF scanners and barcode scanning technology to accurately select items for customer orders based on order sheets and warehouse management system instructions
• Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Pick and pack products with attention to detail, ensuring correct quantities and quality standards are met during order fulfillment
• Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock checks, inventory management systems, and cycle counts
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch and verifying incoming stock against purchase orders
• Support warehouse distribution activities including stocking shelves, organizing materials, and ensuring a clean, safe workspace

Requirements

• Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management systems
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safety protocols
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations including order picking and packing, shipping and receiving, quality control, and stock replenishment
• Basic math skills for counting items, measuring quantities, and verifying shipments accurately
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to materials handling equipment operation and PPE use in a warehouse environment
