About This Role
This order picker role involves operating heavy equipment to efficiently fulfill orders and manage inventory within a dynamic warehouse setting. Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick and pack customer orders using barcode scanning technology and RF scanners to ensure accuracy
- Operate heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks safely for loading, unloading, and stock movement
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, replenishing supplies, and conducting regular stock counts using warehouse management systems
- Prepare orders for shipment by packaging items securely and labeling them correctly in accordance with safety protocols
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by loading and unloading trucks while adhering to manual handling safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring all materials handling equipment is in good working order
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents during heavy lifting or equipment operation
Requirements
- Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations including order picking, packing, inventory management, shipping & receiving
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and order processing
- Experience working in fast-paced distribution centers or warehouses with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Strong manual handling skills with the capability to lift heavy objects safely as part of daily tasks
