Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Part time Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services, with the ability to provide exceptional customer care while ensuring the accurate fitting and dispensing of eyewear. This role requires a blend of technical skills and sales acumen, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care within a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear that meets their needs and preferences while providing expert advice on lens options and frame styles.
• Conduct measurements for eyeglasses, including pupillary distance and fitting adjustments.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory, process sales transactions, and handle financial transactions accurately.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance, as well as the importance of regular eye examinations.
• Stay current with industry trends, new products, and advancements in optical technology.
• Implement aseptic techniques when handling equipment and materials to ensure patient safety.

Requirements

-ABO Certification is preferred but not required.

• Proven experience in an optical setting or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology systems, medical coding, and anatomy is highly desirable.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively and drive sales results.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for effective inventory management and sales processing.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Attention to detail is essential for accurate measurements and record keeping.
