Role Description The Optician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wichita Falls, TX. This role involves assisting customers with frame and lens selection, fitting and adjusting eyewear, and explaining lens options and coatings based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs. The Optician will interpret optical prescriptions, work closely with optometrists to support eye exams, and ensure accurate measurements for lenses and frames. Day-to-day tasks include providing high-quality customer service, addressing questions about vision products, processing orders, and maintaining displays and inventory in the retail space. The Optician will also help resolve product or service concerns, contribute to customer satisfaction initiatives, and uphold store standards for cleanliness, professionalism, and compliance with optical regulations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in optics and optometry to interpret prescriptions, understand lens designs, and support clinical eye care needs.
• Candidates should possess strong customer service and customer satisfaction skills to communicate clearly, build rapport, and create a positive experience for every visitor.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with eye exams and basic clinical procedures to coordinate smoothly with eye care professionals and support patients before and after exams.
• Relevant qualifications include prior experience as an optician or in an optical retail setting, knowledge of frames, lenses, and lens treatments, and comfort using optical measurement tools.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include attention to detail, reliable time management, ability to stand and move throughout the day, and a high school diploma or equivalent; certification or licensure in opticianry is a plus.
