Classification Minimum Requirements High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Job Description Primary Responsibilities Main Duties Will Involve Hands-on Laboratory Work, Including
- Mouse colony management (scheduled feeding, breeding, genotyping, and general animal care)
- Tissue harvesting
- Protein detection assays (western blots and immunofluorescence)
- Molecular cloning
- Histology
- Tissue culture
Additional Responsibilities Essential to our lab's organization and operations, including:
- Maintaining clean and organized lab areas
- Managing ordering and supply inventories
Creating and updating spreadsheets and other lab documents.
Expected Salary $17.00-$19.00 per hour based on experience and skills
Required Qualifications High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Please ask references to comment on lab/research experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required. Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions with a good work ethic.
Preferred Full-time work schedule preferred, but will consider a part-time work schedule. Experience in these techniques is highly desirable:
- Basic knowledge of genetics and cell biology
- Basic knowledge in molecular biological and histological procedures and techniques, including tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy, is appreciated
- A background in mouse husbandry and tissue dissections would be a plus.
