About This Role
Ensuring all computer systems for pellet mills operate according to specifications and remedying system downtime is the primary purpose of the Control Room Operator. This role involves constant monitoring and adjustment to maintain efficient mill operations.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and accident-free work environment
- Monitor the entire computer system for Pellet Mill, making any adjustments as needed
- Constantly monitor moisture level in the system
- Monitor dryer, rotex, and conveyors
- Help to adjust knives and mill rollers when shut down for maintenance
- Fill in where needed to ensure efficient operation of the mill
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule and perform necessary repairs and preventive maintenance
- Ensure accurate logging and reporting of operational data
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity
- Assist in training new operators on control room procedures and systems
Requirements
- Knowledge of pellet mill operating systems

- Ability to interact with co-workers, contractors, and suppliers on a professional level
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to cross-train throughout the facility
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years' experience operating computer systems in a manufacturing setting
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for hours at a time
- Must be able to work in a dusty environment
- Must be able to frequently reach, bend, twist, stoop and climb ladders/stairs
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work flexible hours
- Willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
