Operations Consultant

About This Role

The Operations Consultant at Bank of America is responsible for resolving complex daily problems and executing intricate transactions within a single or smaller business unit. This role involves strategically advising on the design, development, and implementation of products, systems, and services, utilizing discretion within project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the design, development, and implementation of complex products, systems, and services in an operations environment using discretionary judgment
• Advise on projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives
• Advise as a technical expert in assigned area, providing an understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function
• Consult on present-state, develop alternative future-state approaches, and facilitate implementations by creating a clear and coherent approach to guide effective program/initiative setup, execution, and control
• Identify and recommend responsibilities and accountabilities for key programs/projects
• Utilize extensive knowledge of the LoanIQ platform, supporting complex loan operations, client servicing, and process optimization initiatives
• Create an inclusive team where members are treated fairly and respectfully
• Demonstrate and expect process knowledge, data driven decisions, simplicity and continuous improvement
• Deliver clear and concise messages that motivate, convey the “why” and connects contributions to business results

Requirements

• Ability to evaluate complex problems, assess current vs. future state, and develop data-informed recommendations
• Strong capability to identify root causes, resolve complex operational issues, and execute high-risk or complex transactions
• Experience structuring, advising, and executing initiatives—ensuring programs are clearly defined, organized, and delivered effectively
• Ability to analyze operational processes, recommend enhancements, and guide implementation of improved future-state solutions
• Knowledge of LoanIQ and loan operations, including client servicing, transaction processing, and system optimization
