Operational Buyer

About This Role

Playing a strategic role in optimizing the supply chain and maintaining strong supplier relationships is central to this operational buyer position. You will be at the heart of operations, ensuring the efficient procurement of materials, components, and supplies necessary for the company's growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply strategies to ensure the availability of materials, components, and supplies required for operations
• Manage the entire purchasing process, from needs analysis to issuing purchase orders
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier proposals to obtain the best conditions in terms of costs, quality, and deadlines
• Maintain and develop lasting relationships with suppliers while identifying new sourcing opportunities
• Monitor orders, deliveries, and invoicing to ensure compliance with deadlines and transaction conformity
• Optimize inventory management by ensuring adequate stock availability and minimizing the risk of stockouts
• Analyze supply data and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency and profitability
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and standards

Requirements

• College diploma (DEC) or university degree in supply chain, operations management, administration, or a related field
• Any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience will be considered
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement, ideally in the electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical sectors
• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or high-tech environment is a significant asset
• Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written (advanced level)
• Proficiency in English is essential to ensure effective communication with suppliers, who may be located outside of Quebec, and with whom exchanges are required on a regular basis
• Experience in procurement and supplier management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with an ERP (SAP Business One, an asset)
• Excellent negotiation skills and supplier relationship management

• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in an evolving environment
