About the role
Role Overview Provides direct patient care in the perioperative environment, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following established nursing standards.
Educates patients and families about procedures, expectations, and support resources, acting as a liaison between physicians and patients.
Demonstrates competence in scrubbing and/or circulating for various surgical services, adhering to safety protocols, preparing instruments and supplies, and ensuring patient safety from adverse events.
Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, as well as professional development and mentorship.
Qualifications & Skills
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree; Bachelor’s preferred
- 2+ years of Operating Room nursing experience
- RN license; CNOR certification and additional perioperative training preferred
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and technical skills
Key Duties
- Assess and care for surgical patients pre-, intra-, and post-operation
- Set up and assist with surgeries, ensuring safety and sterile technique
- Educate patients and coordinate care with surgical teams
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and mentorship
