Role Overview: This position involves providing high-quality peri-operative nursing care in a surgical setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery and prepare them, including administering preoperative medications and verifying surgical sites.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, medical conditions, and follow-up care.
- Participate in surgical site verification, safety protocols, and respond to patient emergencies.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures, document changes, and deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a diploma or equivalent.
- Circulating experience in an Operating Room is REQUIRED.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
Additional Details: The role requires rotating call with a 30-minute response time, offers predictable scheduling posted four weeks in advance, and involves participation in a supportive, well-equipped environment focused on safety and workflow efficiency.
