Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Operating Room (OR) Circulating Nurse to join our surgical team. The RN Circulator ensures safe and efficient surgical procedures by managing the perioperative nursing process, acting as the patient advocate, and facilitating communication between the surgical team and other healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary patient advocate during surgical procedures
- Prepare the operating room with necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment
- Ensure adherence to sterile technique and proper aseptic practices
- Monitor and document patient care and safety during surgery
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and scrub techs
- Maintain accurate records and ensure surgical counts are correct
- Provide post-op handoffs and support surgical team with patient positioning and transport
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in [Insert State]
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the Operating Room preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CNOR certification is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
