About the role

As a CNC Programmer, your primary focus will be on the development, adjustment, and validation of programs and setup documentation for CNC milling machinery. You will play a vital role in converting technical engineering concepts into high-precision parts by streamlining programming workflows, designing effective fixtures, and refining production processes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain thorough and precise records of all activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation.
  • Analyze engineering blueprints and GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM applications to produce solid models, technical drawings, and precise toolpaths.
  • Enhance manufacturing efficiency by developing and refining sophisticated machining and inspection workflows.
  • Verify that all prior operation sign-offs are complete and confirm part quantities before initiating any production tasks.
  • Conduct essential equipment safety inspections prior to starting any manufacturing work.
  • Confirm that all measuring tools are properly calibrated and in optimal working order before use.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures to ensure the identification and traceability of all products and records.
  • Review all relevant specifications, blueprints, and process instructions to help maintain consistent quality standards across all production runs.
  • Comply with all established departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver agile support to ensure the successful production of components with tight tolerances.
  • Identify and correct quality discrepancies related to the machining process.
  • Develop, update, and validate programming for all shop floor machinery.
  • Design and program specialized work-holding fixtures to support various production volumes.
  • Improve overall throughput by optimizing cutting tools, programs, and fixture setups to reduce cycle times.
  • Manage and update process documentation for existing product lines.
  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge cutting tools, work-holding solutions, and programming software.
  • Validate that all new CNC programs are designed to support and improve the overall product flow within the facility.

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience utilizing CAD/CAM software, with a preference for Esprit, MasterCAM, and Solidworks.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience operating CNC equipment within a production setting, with medical device manufacturing experience considered a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diverse inspection techniques, such as mechanical and CMM measurement.
  • Solid technical competency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and CAM software.
