Oncology Nurse Navigator, Medical Oncology

About This Role

This Oncology Nurse Navigator position in Medical Oncology involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes. The role focuses on identifying patient and family needs, coordinating supportive care, and ensuring appropriate services are delivered according to the interdisciplinary care plan. It is ideal for a nurse with experience in chemotherapy and a strong interest in caring for Oncology and Hematology patients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and achieve mutual goals
• Identify patient and family needs
• Coordinate supportive care and appropriate services in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care
• Promote the delivery of quality patient care to Oncology and Hematology patients through implementation of the nursing process for assigned patient population
• Serve as a resource for nurses and other healthcare providers
• Monitor patient outcomes and resolve issues or problems that may develop in the implementation of care
• Maintain an atmosphere which ensures SGMC Health’s values, goals, policies and procedures are consistently supported and enforced

Requirements

• Current licensure as RN in Georgia
• Four years of nursing experience
• Experience with chemotherapy and interest in caring for Oncology/Hematology patients
• Flexible in work schedule, assignments, and workloads
• Skilled at setting priorities and utilizing problem-solving techniques
• Ability to analyze regulations, standards, clinical issues, and patient outcomes
• Excellent verbal, written, and behavioral communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to operate a variety of office, educational, clinical, and non-clinical equipment

• Schedule: Full Time, 8-hour day shift, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
