Onboarding Specialist

About This Role

Coordinating the onboarding process for a nationwide healthcare company is the primary focus of this role. The Onboarding Specialist facilitates the electronic onboarding process, partners with vendors for various checks and orders, and ensures compliance with employment documents. This position involves providing information and answering questions from candidates, teammates, and management to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the onboarding process meets all requirements and adheres to all employment laws
• Provide prompt customer service to internal contacts and candidates to ensure an outstanding onboarding experience, including answering phone calls and emails regarding new hire processes, paperwork requirements, and background checks; answering questions related to onboarding policies; and establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with management and internal and external customers
• Identify potential onboarding issues or concerns; research, provide clarification, and facilitate problem resolution
• Notify management and/or departments regarding onboarding process issues; collaborate and advise as appropriate and escalate non-compliance issues and concerns
• Serve as liaison between Select Medical and third-party vendors regarding background clearance processes, drug testing, and E-Verify; coordinate requests, answer questions, monitor, and receive results

Requirements

• Bachelor
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and regulations at the state and federal levels is required

Nice to have:

• Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and/or employment compliance
• Demonstrated experience in new employee orientation and I-9 process
• Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; intermediate computer skills and experience with applicant tracking systems
