Onboarding Specialist

About This Role

Onboarding new hires and ensuring their smooth integration into the workforce is the primary focus of this role. The specialist handles in-person onboarding tasks, validates I-9 forms, collects local tax and union documents, and processes compliance-related paperwork. This position also supports external hiring plans and identifies inefficiencies to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-boarding and onboarding activities and programs (e.g., I-9, validate background checks, coordinate scheduling, support biometrics and fingerprinting)
• Post, collect, and audit bid lists, ensure accurate hiring ratio, and perform Driver Qualification Files (DQF; e.g., licensing, background check, schedule road test, drug screening for Feeder drivers)
• Keep internal candidate notes on the bid files
• Coordinate drug screening for drivers
• Assist with Integrad list of drivers for internal drivers

Requirements

• Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote)
• Relevant HR experience
• Ability to travel and work in multiple locations
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
• Previous UPS experience
