About the role

Summary

The Onboarding and Experience Specialist is responsible for:

  • Executing all onboarding related activities for new team members and transfers for the system.
  • Processing in-seat promotions, demotions, lateral moves and additional jobs for team members.
  • Ensuring a positive onboarding experience for team members.
  • Serving as a point of continued support for new team members through their first year of hire at Rochester Regional Health.
  • Helping acclimate new team members to the health system and providing an experience where team members feel welcomed and have a sense of belonging.

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding
• Responsible for building relationships with new team members and existing employees throughout the pre-employment and transfer onboarding process.
• Responsible for mentoring the candidate through the onboarding process, communicating next steps and timelines to ensure validation of qualifications in a timely manner.
• Communicates candidate status to key stakeholders such as: hiring manager, recruiter, learning and development and any additional departments throughout the onboarding process.
• Manages all pre-employment background checks to include those required by company or regulatory authorities.
• Partners with affiliations to schedule pre-employment health appointments for new team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience
• Responsible for supporting new team members through their first year of employment.
• Responsible for creating an environment of engaging and belonging for new team members.
• Responsible for communicating to leader identified issues related to new team members experience.
• Responsible for collecting and documenting new team member feedback and sharing with appropriate parties.

Desired Attributes:
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to sense environments and people in need of support.
• Knowledge of personnel procedures and policies.
• Detail oriented and client focused.
• Ability to prioritize workload, multitask and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Organization Skills: Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to take initiative and complete assignments against deadlines.
Communication: Communicates information and ideas clearly and articulately both in written and verbal form. Ability to adapt communication style and methods based on audience and purpose of communication.
Time Management: Prioritizes workload and tasks appropriately and ensures most critical are addressed in a timely manner.
Customer Service: Demonstrates strong customer service skills, with intentions to help and support needs of people and the business.

Physical Requirements:
