Core Family Practice
Glen Mills, PA & Kennett Square, PA · Full-time, on-site ·
Standard Hours: Monday–Friday,
8:00am–3:30pm
Core Family Practice was founded a decade ago on a simple premise: primary care works better without insurance companies in the middle so there is a direct relationship between the doctor and the patient. Ten years later, we are a thriving, two-office, six-physician Direct Primary Care practice with a loyal membership base. Now, we are looking for a hands-on Practice Manager to oversee daily operations, support our team, and contribute to Core’s strategic planning—giving our physician-owners the space to shape the practice’s future.
This isn’t a front-desk position. It’s an operations leadership role built for someone who wants to help run a growing small business that is actively changing healthcare.
About Core Family Practice
Core is a Direct Primary Care practice with offices in Glen Mills and Kennett Square. Patients pay a simple monthly membership, and we don’t bill insurance. Our doctors keep smaller patient panels, so they have time to actually know their patients. Members get same- or next-day visits and can text their doctor directly.
We also partner with local businesses to offer the same kind of care to their employees.
We’re a small team of physicians and clinical support staff. We believe healthcare can be better, and we’re building it one patient relationship at a time.
The role
You’ll report to Dr. Paul Yerkes, our COO, and work closely with Dr. Ricky Haug, our CEO. Together, the three of you form the practice’s leadership team. You’ll manage the support team of four to five people, including Patient Care Coordinators, medical assistants, nurses, and phlebotomy.
The founders need someone between them and the daily flow of the practice. You’ll handle what comes up and bring them only what truly needs them. Each week you’ll bring a short, focused update to a protected leadership meeting. When something gets decided there, the founders can count on it getting done.
No two days look the same. Most of your time goes to leading the team and keeping both offices running well. Some weeks that means onboarding a new hire or planning a chamber event. Now and then it means stepping in on a vendor issue or a member concern your team has escalated. If you like a predictable routine, this won't be the right fit. If you like solving a different problem each day, it will be.
What you’ll own
Who thrives here
You believe in what we’re doing. Changing how primary care works excites you, and you’d rather build something than just maintain it.
You take ownership. You don’t wait for permission on the things you were hired to handle, and you close the loop without being chased. You’re comfortable leading a team, including having hard conversations early, before problems grow. You’re direct, organized, and calm when plans change by 9:15am. You’re also a team player who’s happy to jump in, as long as the leadership work still gets done.
