Of Counsel

About This Role

Working directly with the litigation group, the Of Counsel Attorney advises and defends employers in various workplace matters, including investigations, administrative charges, and state and federal lawsuits. This role suits an attorney with experience in employment defense who can work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Independently produce a quality work product
• Defend against agency charges of discrimination and lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims
• Provide advice and counseling on employment-related issues
• Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases
• Work as part of a team, especially on larger cases

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• 8+ years of experience, preferred employment law experience a plus
• MD Bar Admission preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, including working with document-intensive cases
• Strong organizational and case management skills, including managing numerous cases at once
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and effectively utilize other professionals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
