Role Overview: An Occupational Therapist provides outpatient rehabilitation services for older adults in in-home and community settings, focusing on restoring independence and functional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, and implement personalized therapy plans addressing cognitive, physical, and perceptual skills.
- Supervise support personnel, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and make appropriate referrals.
- Order supplies, maintain equipment, and ensure safety protocols.
- Deliver patient-centered care, educate patients and caregivers, and document progress accurately.
- Design and fit adaptive devices, provide training, and modify plans based on patient progress.
- Perform routine reexaminations and contribute to care conferences and team meetings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid and active occupational therapy license in the practice state.
- Reliable transportation or a valid driver’s license.
