About the role
Position Overview The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to all legal and organizational standards. The role involves developing and implementing treatment plans, assessing patient progress, and supervising therapy staff such as OTAs and rehab aides. The OT collaborates with patients, families, and support teams to ensure optimal care and functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
- Establish, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable goals.
- Oversee and evaluate therapy staff performance.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and charts.
- Utilize therapy software effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
- Participate in safety procedures, including patient evacuation.
- Communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain professional relationships, confidentiality, and adherence to organizational policies.
- Demonstrate physical capability to perform job functions, including lifting and mobility tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certified by NBCOT; licensure in applicable state maintained in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- CPR certification required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in post-acute care settings.
