Role: Observation Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on an Observation/Med-Surg unit
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and administer medications
- Monitor patient status and coordinate discharges for short-stay and observation patients
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families about care plans
- Document accurately in the EHR and follow safety and quality protocols
- Use critical thinking to manage changing patient conditions
- Support throughput goals and contribute to a teamwork-driven unit culture
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse licensure
- Experience in medical-surgical or observation units
- Strong assessment, medication administration, and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to think critically and adapt to changing situations
- Commitment to safety, quality, and patient education
