Job Title: Nutrition Strategy & Communications Manager
Location: Bournville, Birmingham (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site)
Contract Duration: December 2026 – November 2027 (Fixed-Term / Maternity Cover)
Salary: Up to £66,000 per annum

Role Overview
Join a global leader in the food and beverage industry as a Nutrition Strategy & Communications Manager to lead and execute nutrition and well-being strategies across the UK market. Based in Bournville within a collaborative 5-person team, this maternity cover position plays a critical role in supporting product innovation, assessing nutritional value against internal policies, and simplifying complex nutrition science for diverse audiences.
Working closely with regional cross-functional partners in the Netherlands and Poland, you will translate scientific knowledge into engaging communication strategies that drive brand credibility, support product development, and navigate evolving local regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development & Strategy: Provide actionable nutrition input during product innovation and reformulations, assessing nutritional profiles against internal compliance guidelines and strategic well-being goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner internally with Product Development (Innovation/Wellbeing), Regulatory & Scientific Affairs, Marketing, Nutrition Research, and Corporate & Government Affairs.
- Nutrition Communications: Develop and align credible nutrition and well-being messages and claims for packaging, advertising, digital media, and external health professional materials.
- External & Government Affairs Support: Monitor the UK regulatory environment (including HFSS initiatives) and partner with Corporate Affairs to guide external communication and stakeholder strategies.
- Education & Outreach: Support internal employee nutrition education programs, execute health influencer outreach strategies, and support local nutrition conference activations.
- Regional Integration: Work closely with international nutrition teams in Poland and the Netherlands to adapt regional strategies for the UK market.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Scientific & Nutrition Background: Dietitian or Nutritionist background (registered/accredited with a recognized professional body preferred). Note: Direct industry experience is prioritized over advanced academic qualifications.
- Communication Skills: Proven ability to translate complex scientific data into simple, compelling, and compliant messaging for non-technical stakeholders, consumers, and marketers.
- Food Industry Experience: Demonstrated background in applied human nutrition, food regulations, and claim development within the food and beverage industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK regulatory landscape, including HFSS guidelines and food health policies.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Strong autonomy, multi-tasking abilities, and experience managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
