Nursing Assistant

About This Role

This nursing assistant role focuses on providing daily basic care and emotional support to residents in a residential center, ensuring their well-being at all times. The position is ideal for a compassionate individual dedicated to assisting elderly people and those with mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill the work routine according to the resident care protocol stipulated by the Nursing Coordinator (position changes, daily hygiene, etc.)
• Help residents with their personal autonomy and integration into the center's social life
• Feed residents who cannot do so themselves and supervise self-feeding for those who can
• Serve breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and/or dinners as indicated by a supervisor
• Ensure residents are properly hydrated at all times
• Make residents' beds and collect clothing from rooms
• Administer oral medication to residents as indicated by nursing staff, excluding specific high-risk medications such as morphines and others
• Collaborate in the center's care work
• Coordinate and assist residents with their commutes to therapies or activities they need to attend
• Mentor students in internships

Requirements

• Vocational Training Cycle in Auxiliary Nursing Care, Vocational Training Cycle in Care for People in Situations of Dependency, or Professional Certificate in Sociosanitary Care for Dependent People in Social Institutions
• Desirable minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar position
• Complementary training in gerontology, food handling, or similar fields
• Availability of training courses related to the area, as well as complementary training in promoting equality, will be positively valued
