- Ambulation assistance
- Patient transportation
- Obtaining equipment or supplies from other areas within the hospital
- Responding to the call bell for the patients' various needs
- Answering the phones at the nurses' station
Excellent customer service is needed for interactions with the patients and visitors, receiving calls over the patient intercom, and answering telephones to receive and relay messages. The nursing assistant would also be required to obtain telemetry training to aid in monitoring the centralized monitors at the nurse's station.
