About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Nurse Practitioner to join our ATR/ASU team at Whanganui Hospital on a permanent part-time basis.
This advanced practice role provides expert clinical leadership and specialist nursing care across the ATR/ASU service. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management for patients requiring rehabilitation and acute stroke services, while supporting service development and improving patient outcomes.

About the Team/Service/Location
The ATR/ASU Ward provides specialised assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and acute stroke care for patients across the Whanganui region. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes recovery, independence and equitable health outcomes for patients and whānau.

About You
You will have:
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Experience working within rehabilitation, stroke, medical, or older persons' health services.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and supporting service development.
- Excellent communication, leadership and relationship management skills.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and culturally safe practice.
