Position Overview
JR Enterprise (JRE) is seeking a Health & Wellness Manager (Nurse Practitioner) to provide primary medical care and oversee the Health & Wellness Center serving Job Corps students in Kansas.
This is a 1 FTE, W-2 contract opportunity with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM–4:30 PM. The Nurse Practitioner will serve as the Center Physician/Medical Director, providing clinical leadership, managing healthcare operations, and ensuring the quality and appropriateness of medical services provided to students.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents and young adults, particularly those from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, along with strong supervisory and healthcare management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary medical care to Job Corps students.
- Serve as the Medical Director and provide clinical guidance to the Health & Wellness Center.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage departmental administrative and program activities.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate department staff.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and program improvements.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets and control expenditures.
- Review assigned areas for contractual and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services for students.
- Coordinate outside vendors, subcontracted staff, and healthcare services.
- Serve as the designated Disability Coordinator for the center.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide consultation and support for urgent situations.
- Teach student wellness classes in coordination with career preparation programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner with AANP certification.
- Valid, unrestricted Kansas NP license.
- DEA registration.
- Experience providing NP services to adolescents and young adults, preferably within socially and economically disadvantaged populations.
- At least 3 years of related experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience preferred for the Manager role.
- Strong leadership, clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
