Role Overview: The Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight for a specific clinical unit, ensuring quality patient care, safety, and staff retention.
- Key Responsibilities: Manage clinical, financial, human, and material resources; promote a safe, collaborative work environment; ensure compliance with safety and quality standards; foster communication among staff, physicians, and departments; and uphold professional nursing practice standards.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Engage staff in shared governance, build strong relationships, resolve conflicts, and support professional growth. Acts as a safety and retention officer, utilizing data and technology to improve outcomes.
- Clinical Excellence & Outcomes: Promote staff competency, ensure adherence to ethical and regulatory standards, and lead initiatives in evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement.
- Professional Development: Manage resources effectively, participate in community and organizational activities, and seek opportunities for skill advancement.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred), active RN license (multi-state compact preferred), BLS certification, and minimum two years of relevant experience.
Skills & Competencies: Strong communication, negotiation, mediation, change management, relationship-building, and analytical skills. Knowledge of healthcare financing, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice is essential.
