This nurse manager role oversees the operations of the Labor & Delivery department, leading the nursing personnel assigned to the unit. It suits a registered nurse with strong leadership and communication skills who is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee operations and functions of the Labor & Delivery department
• Maintain a professional image
• Make a conscientious effort to help maintain a clean, safe and secure environment
• Assume responsibility for institutional requirements
• Demonstrate pride in the organization
• Strive to work well as a team member
• Utilize the nursing process in planning or providing care for patients/residents ages (adolescent, adult and geriatric)
• Maintain a safe environment for patients/residents, co-workers and self

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of Professional Nursing
• Licensed in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
• Certification in Basic Life Support as required by policy
• 3-5 years experience as staff nurse
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership ability
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Possess the ability to learn basic computer
• Demonstrate competency in basic nursing skills
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace as essential functions of the job
• Honesty and maintaining a professional composure are important aspects of the job
• Good physical and mental health
