About This Role
This role involves serving as the Head or Deputy Head of Nursing for an assigned nursing home, reporting to the Director of Nursing. You will be responsible for the daily operations, improvements, and enhancements of clinical nursing services, ensuring safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective care for residents and their families.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage assigned nursing home operations to ensure philosophy, policies, and objectives are reflected in daily resident care
- Oversee the team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Aides, and Healthcare Assistants
- Oversee incident reporting activities, including investigation, report writing, and communicating responses to family members
- Develop and implement strategies for emergency situations
- Participate in budgetary planning for the center and ensure effective implementation and optimal utilization of the budget
- Ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services
- Comply with all nursing standards stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Singapore Nursing Board
- Lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care
- Promote evidence-based practices for nursing care delivery
- Ensure written policies, procedures, and work processes are available and up to date to guide nursing care delivery
- Ensure smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community, where possible
- Direct care of residents to ensure compliance with standards
- Participate actively in discussions and communication with external agencies (e.g., AIC, MOH)
- Ensure effective stakeholder management with all groups of stakeholders (e.g., residents, their families, government agencies)
- Partner the Operations Manager in the upkeep, security, and maintenance of building, facilities, and equipment
- Direct and facilitate staff development, skills, and competency upgrading through various opportunities such as formal education, in-house training, on-the-job training, or approved online learning programs
- Work closely with relevant departments to develop training needs and curriculum for the nursing team
Requirements
- At least 6 to 8 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Recognized Degree or Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Nursing
- Valid license from SNB as a Registered Nurse
