Nurse Manager

About This Role

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership, direction, and clinical supervision of the nursing staff of the assigned clinics. This role involves coordinating and facilitating health care services for patients, including the provision of direct patient care. The Nurse Manager is accountable for both the provision of nursing care and the coordination of care for patients in collaboration with the health care team, carrying primary responsibility for the daily operations of the clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hiring, coaching, development, discipline, and firing of clinical personnel when necessary
• Review weekly timesheets for accuracy and approve them by the required timeline
• Conduct one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews with direct reports
• Attend mandatory Manager’s Learning Collaborative trainings
• Partner with People Operations to develop a learning plan for employee development goals
• Work with the Clinic Manager to develop and monitor departmental and program/project operating budgets
• Supervise, lead, coach, and use best management practices to improve staff performance
• Direct nursing services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Ensure the accreditation of the assigned health center is maintained
• Oversee and provide direct patient care including functions of triage and clinical interventions
• Evaluate quality of patient care and identify areas for improvement
• Responsible for day-to-day clinical staff scheduling and coverage
• Provide training for all staff in areas of patient care and clinical procedures
• Conduct skills assessments and ensure that in-services are conducted
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for storage and handling of vaccines and medications
• Maintain adequate inventory of clinical supplies for appropriate patient care
• Oversee functions of case management and documentation of follow-up activities
• Participate in the development of department policies and protocols
• Work closely with the clinical team to ensure timely scheduling of specialty referrals
• Participate in activities related to chronic disease management
• Ensure oversight of temperature control of vaccines and appropriate notification of excursions
• Participate with Quality and other departments in developing new workflows
• Maintain proficiency with DAP Health computer programs
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Current and active License as a Registered Nurse
• Three years' experience in nursing preferred
• One to two years nursing management and program development experience
