About the role
Role: The Nurse Extern assists the nursing team by providing essential patient care, including helping with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, performing basic procedures, and supporting patient comfort and hygiene. They document care, communicate updates, educate patients and families, and maintain a safe, organized environment.
Responsibilities: Deliver compassionate, safe care; support patient mobility; perform wound and catheter care; collect specimens; ensure infection control; engage in learning opportunities; collaborate with supervisors to develop personal growth plans.
Qualifications: Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program; certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA); Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start; commitment to developing nursing skills.
Skills: Compassionate communication, attention to detail, teamwork, willingness to learn, infection prevention, and documentation accuracy.
