📍 Nurse Auditor (Remote)
📍 Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
🕒 Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a- 4:30pm Or 9a-5:30p EST
💻 Work Environment: 100% Remote
Are you an experienced RN, LPN with a strong background in professional fee coding, compliance auditing, and appeals ? We're seeking a detail-oriented Professional Nurse Auditor to conduct remote coding audits, evaluate clinical documentation, and provide meaningful recommendations that improve coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, fully remote team where you'll work independently while making a direct impact on coding quality and reimbursement accuracy.
What You'll Do
- Perform remote audits of professional services documentation with a focus on:
- Evaluation & Management (E/M) services
- Physician surgical services
- Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy and compliance
- Research complex coding and compliance questions
- Apply current coding guidelines and official coding resources
- Interpret and apply:
- Teaching Physician Guidelines
- Incident-To Guidelines
- Split/Shared Visit Guidelines
- Prepare detailed audit reports, executive summaries, and recommendations
- Calculate coding accuracy rates and financial impact
- Document audit findings using approved methodologies
- Communicate audit results and recommendations with internal leadership
- Maintain accurate productivity reporting and weekly timesheets
Productivity Expectations
- Review 3–5 appeals per hour
- Complete 15+ appeals per day (minimum)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN or LPN license
- Minimum 3 years of professional services coding experience , with an emphasis on Evaluation & Management (E/M)
- Extensive appeals experience
- Experience with DRG downgrade appeals
