Nuclear Group Leader

About This Role

This experienced Nuclear Group Leader will join the nuclear engineering team in Montreuil, France, contributing to the design of nuclear buildings. The role involves supervising drafters and collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, offering a career opportunity to develop expertise in safety-critical design and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine technical designs of nuclear components and systems using CAD, BIM software, and design tools
• Perform detailed technical analyses and calculations to support design decisions and validate performance requirements
• Create comprehensive technical plans, specifications, and documentation in accordance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex technical challenges and optimize designs
• Conduct design reviews and quality controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project specifications
• Conduct research and stay informed about nuclear design standards, codes, and best practices (ASME, IAEA, and other applicable regulations)
• Contribute to the preparation of design reports and technical documentation for internal review and by regulatory authorities
• Participate in design meetings and provide constructive input to team discussions and problem-solving initiatives
• Participate in the modeling and simulation of nuclear systems to evaluate their performance and safety characteristics
• Ensure proper organization of project files and documentation to guarantee traceability and compliance with quality assurance protocols

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software such as TEKLA, ALLPLAN, ArmaCAD, or equivalent design tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a keen eye for detail
• Good understanding of nuclear design principles, safety-critical systems, and fundamental nuclear engineering concepts
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings, BIM models, and engineering documentation
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly convey technical information
• Proven ability to work effectively within collaborative teams
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and regulatory compliance in engineering
• Prior experience in a regulated industry or a design environment where safety is paramount
• Proficiency in French
• Basic experience in project management or knowledge of project management methodologies
• Experience in technical documentation and specification development
