About This Role
This Non-Commercial Driver's License (NCL) Driver role involves safely operating an automatic diesel 26' box truck to transport dry goods efficiently and securely. It offers a chance to contribute to a reputable organization focused on safe and reliable pick-up and delivery services.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate automatic diesel 26' box truck in accordance with FMSCA regulations
- Transport dry goods OTR on various routes within the U.S., ensuring timely arrivals and departures
- Assist with loading and unloading, providing professional customer service and ensuring safety throughout the journey
- Conduct daily routine vehicle inspections pre and post trip and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain vehicle safety standards
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes and adapt to real-time traffic conditions for efficient service delivery
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during all driving activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members, providing clear information regarding ETA, delays or route changes as needed
Requirements
- Valid Non-Commercial Driver’s License (NCL) with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software for efficient navigation
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack when necessary for loading/unloading cargo and utilize E Straps to secure loads
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members
- Strong adherence to traffic regulations, state transportation laws, and safety standards at all times
Nice to have:
- Experience as a delivery driver with an understanding of driving routes
- Experience with driving box trucks and operating a lift gate is highly desirable
