About This Role
This Node.js Developer role focuses on building and maintaining server-side applications, designing APIs, and managing databases. The position suits a developer with strong backend skills who can also contribute to cloud deployments and ensure high-quality, secure code.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and NestJS
- Write reusable, testable, scalable, and efficient backend code
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs for frontend services and third-party integrations
- Build secure authentication and authorization systems using JWT and role-based access control
- Integrate external services, APIs, and cloud-based solutions
- Implement logging, monitoring, caching, and error-handling mechanisms
- Optimize API performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks to ensure high availability and responsiveness
- Design and maintain database schemas and data models
- Work extensively with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Optimize database queries and indexing strategies
- Ensure data integrity, scalability, and high-performance data access
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS
- Work with AWS services for hosting, storage, monitoring, and scalability
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Write comprehensive unit tests using Jest and React Testing Library
- Ensure high test coverage and maintain code quality standards
- Conduct code reviews and enforce development best practices
- Utilize tools such as ESLint and SonarQube to maintain code quality
- Implement performance monitoring and optimization strategies
- Apply frontend and backend security best practices
- Prevent and mitigate Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF/XSRF), and CORS vulnerabilities
- Implement secure JWT token management and authentication workflows
- Ensure secure API communication and data protection practices
- Design scalable and maintainable software architectures
- Apply SOLID principles and design patterns such as Singleton Pattern
- Contribute to system design discussions and architectural decisions
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams
- Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
