As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a calm and reassuring environment, responding promptly to residents’ needs, and upholding high standards of care throughout the night. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, conducting regular checks and responding swiftly to any emergencies or concerns
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and ensuring comfort during sleeping hours
- Maintain accurate care plans by documenting observations, incidents, and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and update on residents’ status
- Support residents in maintaining their dignity and independence while respecting their privacy and preferences
- Manage light administrative duties using IT systems to record activities and update records as required
- Ensure the environment remains safe by checking security measures, fire safety protocols, and cleanliness standards
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and healthcare teams
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Good IT skills for managing electronic care records and documentation efficiently
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting home care visits or transportation needs
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care services is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures ensures personalized support tailored to each resident’s needs
- Excellent observation skills to identify changes in residents’ health or behavior promptly
