About the role
A confidential Texas law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate Attorney to support a defense-side practice handling bankruptcy and related disputes. This is an on-site role in Houston for an attorney who is comfortable owning meaningful litigation responsibilities and partnering closely with senior lawyers and clients.

THE ROLE
- Handle bankruptcy-related litigation, including contested matters and adversary proceedings.
- Draft and argue motions and other core bankruptcy litigation filings; manage deadlines and case strategy.
- Conduct discovery tasks including written discovery and depositions, and support hearing and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel and help drive matters toward resolution.

Compensation:
Highly competitive salaries dependent on experience and billable hours.
REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Bankruptcy experience, with a litigation-forward background strongly preferred for this role.
- Approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant attorney experience (the firm is open to candidates with the right background).
- Strong legal writing skills and the ability to manage multiple matters with minimal oversight in a fast-paced litigation environment.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Admission to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas (Houston).
- Demonstrated history of consistently meeting billable expectations in a performance-driven compensation model.
