Role Overview The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation, within nursing standards after completing a nursing program and prior to licensure. They must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation to maintain employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication use.
- Utilize critical thinking to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively, promoting patient-centered care.
- Assess patient responses and modify care plans accordingly.
- Participate in activities to ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development.
- Work in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining constant alertness.
