About The Role WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking a highly experienced Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned network professional to lead complex projects, contribute to architectural standards, and deliver innovative network solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will act as a technical leader within the delivery team, guiding engineers, managing end-to-end project execution, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient network infrastructures. This role requires a proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and in-depth technical expertise to meet the evolving needs of our enterprise clients.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of demonstrable experience in designing, leading, and implementing complex network solutions within regulated industries or large enterprise environments. Proven experience as a Lead Engineer on large-scale programs, with a focus on technical leadership and stakeholder communication, is essential. Certifications such as Cisco CCIE Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at the Certified Technical Specialist level are advantageous. A strong understanding of multiple network technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to consolidate diverse technical inputs into cohesive solutions are critical. The candidate should demonstrate proactive workload management, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in two or more network technologies, maintaining a working knowledge of others used by the client.
- Scope, plan, and lead engineering efforts on large transformational programs and network initiatives, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
- Design, build, and deploy network infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Coordinate with global support teams to facilitate smooth transition of delivered solutions into operational support environments.
- Develop comprehensive low-level designs, documentation, and standards to support project implementation.
- Ensure compliance with governance, change management, risk, and audit requirements across all network disciplines.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and external vendors to achieve project milestones, providing regular updates and escalating issues as necessary.
- Estimate workload and delivery timelines accurately, managing priorities effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex network issues and mitigate potential risks during project execution.
- Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, ensuring all activities are compliant with enterprise risk management frameworks.
