Role: Network Architect – F5
Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite
Hours: 40 hours/week
Experience: 10+ years in Network Engineering/Architecture, with 5+ years specifically on F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM
Top Skills Required:
- F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM/DNS
- F5 Certifications – F5-CTS LTM/GTM preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement enterprise-scale F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM/DNS solutions.
- Design virtual servers, pools, iRules, iApps, SSL offloading, and traffic policies.
- Design global load balancing, disaster recovery, and multi-site failover solutions.
- Define enterprise standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
- Lead HA, capacity planning, and DR strategies for F5 platforms.
- Integrate F5 with WAF, APM, ASM and other security solutions.
- Manage F5 lifecycle, upgrades, migrations, and cloud deployments across AWS/Azure/GCP .
- Automate F5 deployments using Ansible, Terraform, iControl REST API, and Python .
- Provide L3/L4 technical leadership, troubleshooting, and mentoring.
- Develop HLD/LLD, runbooks, DR plans, and SOPs.
- Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and performance tuning.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM/DNS
- Working knowledge of ASM, APM, AFM
- TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, load-balancing algorithms
- iRules / TCL scripting
- F5 BIG-IP VE deployments in AWS/Azure/GCP
- F5 automation: Ansible, Terraform, iControl REST/SOAP API, Python
- Enterprise networking: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, data center architecture
- Multi-data-center HA/DR architecture
- Troubleshooting with tcpdump, Wireshark, qkview, F5 iHealth
- Strong stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills
Nice to Have:
- F5-CTS LTM/GTM, F5-CSE or F5 Certified Architect
- Kubernetes / Ingress / NGINX / F5 CIS
- SDN/NFV and multi-cloud networking
- Aviatrix / Cisco ACI
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- ITIL awareness
