About This Role
This role involves providing daily network administration and troubleshooting support to customers, reporting to the Manager of Managed Services. The position also includes participation in projects such as circuit activations, managed services on-boarding, and performing configurations, installations, and upgrades on customer contracts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a direct point of contact for customer, service provider, and internal staff interaction
- Monitor and maintain operating systems, network configurations, software applications, and hardware
- Administer and monitor system availability and performance tools
- Add and enhance monitoring objects for SNMPC and various systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
- Solve or document and further escalate issues as needed
- Update and create internal articles and/or documentation
- Work closely with internal and external customers
- Troubleshoot equipment connectivity and perform layer 1-3 troubleshooting
- Perform loop testing to determine and isolate problems on the path
- Provide technical support to internal staff as well as external customers

- 3+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on operations experience in a high availability network and data center environment
- SQL Server administration and/or management experience
- Significant experience with IIS, Active Directory, Windows networking administration, and knowledge of web technologies
- Linux administration
- Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems for servers and workstations, including Windows Server 2008
- VB and batch scripting experience
- Working knowledge and understanding of DNS
Nice to have:
- Networking, Microsoft, and VMWare certification preferred
