About the role
The Program Coordinator provides national coordination, scheduling governance, and workforce mobilisation functions across National Observing Operations (NOO). The role is responsible for ensuring operational resources, capabilities, logistics, and schedules are aligned to support maintenance, capital works, project delivery, and strategic initiatives across the Bureau's observing networks.
The Program Coordinator role will establish and maintain a nationally consistent scheduling and resource planning framework across NOO, ensuring alignment between Program of Service obligations, maintenance activities, capital programs, deployment projects, workforce availability, operational priorities and stakeholder requirements.
The position will provide national oversight of the workforce utilization and field deployment planning, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through coordinated travel, shared logistics, multi-network maintenance activities and strategic resource allocation.
Over the next 3-4 years, a primary focus of the role will be supporting the Bureau's AWS Replacement Program, coordinating the rollout of replacement equipment to more than 700 sites across Australia, Antarctica and offshore territories. The position will serve as the key interface between project delivery teams and operational maintenance centres to ensure workforce readiness, scheduling integration, logistics coordination, training preparedness and successful operational transition.
