About This Role
Teaching music theory, vocal training, and instrumental music to students is the core of this job at Orchids International School. You will foster creativity and a love for music in students while preparing them for performances, competitions, and cultural events, contributing to their holistic development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct music classes focusing on various aspects of music, including theory, vocals, and instrumental skills
- Teach different genres of music such as classical, western, folk, and contemporary, based on the curriculum
- Prepare students for performances in school events, cultural programs, and competitions
- Assess students' progress and provide feedback to help them improve their musical abilities
- Organize and lead school choirs, bands, or ensembles, as appropriate
- Create a positive, inclusive, and creative learning environment in the music classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary school activities
- Maintain and manage musical instruments and resources required for teaching
- Stay updated with the latest trends in music education and integrate them into lessons
- Encourage teamwork and discipline through group musical performances
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music or related field
- Proven experience as a Music Teacher in a school or educational institution
- Proficiency in teaching vocal and instrumental music (knowledge of western and/or Indian classical music is a plus)
- 2+ years of teaching experience in school
- Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse musical interests and abilities
