Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary: We are looking for an Exhibits Technician to join our team at the Kansas Museum of History. This person will assist in fabricating artifact mounts using general woodworking, plastic fabrication, or other appropriate tools and equipment and must demonstrate proper handling of original artifacts from the museum collection. They will participate in the planning, design, fabrication, and installation of exhibit projects at all exhibit sites at the Kansas Historical Society.

Qualifications

  • Education: Five years direct experience in the field of historical organization, agency or museum work.

Preferred Qualifications**:** Major course work in fine arts, graphic design, commercial art, sculpture, industrial design, theater design or preparation; or successful completion of two years training in an accredited community junior college, art or vocational school in concentrated certificate or associate degree program of manual arts, graphic arts, or exhibit preparation supplemented by two years experience in commercial, manual, or industrial arts, etc.
